The Dock app adds a guided print configurator directly to your Shopify product pages, making it easy to sell professional print through your existing store.
Customers choose their print options, see live prices and upload artwork, which can be checked automatically by Dock's built-in artwork checker. They then pay through your normal Shopify checkout.
Once the order is placed, Solopress handles the printing and fulfilment behind the scenes, with tracking updates sent back to the Shopify order automatically.

The Dock Shopify app — install Dock from the Shopify App Store.
An idea of the products you want to sell — choose the Solopress print products you'd like to offer through your store.
A payment method — register a payment card during onboarding to cover the cost of goods. If you have agreed account terms with Solopress, orders can be invoiced instead.
Six simple steps — everything you need to do to start selling Solopress print products through your existing Shopify store.
Install the Dock Shopify app directly from the Shopify App Store.
Connect the app using three credentials from your Dock settings page: Tenant ID, API Key and Server Secret.
You'll find all three ready to copy from your account settings.
With one click, sync your selected print products to Shopify as drafts. You can customise the product information to suit your store and resync whenever you need to pull through changes.
Once you're happy, simply publish them to your Online Store and they're ready to sell.
Open your Shopify theme editor and add the Dock configurator block to your product page template. The configurator will appear on your Dock products, allowing customers to choose their print specifications, see live pricing and upload artwork.
Your existing products aren't affected — Dock only handles the Solopress products connected to it.
Enable Dock's built-in Checkout Guard to stop incomplete or unconfigured Dock products from being bought. It ensures every Dock product has been correctly configured before it can make it through checkout.
Turn on Dock Buy Guard with a single click to hide your theme's standard Add to cart and Buy it now buttons on Dock products.
Customers are guided through the Dock configurator instead, helping ensure every print order is correctly configured before it's added to their basket.
That's it — you're ready to sell. Your customers can now configure and order print through your Shopify store, while Dock and Solopress take care of everything needed to get those orders into production.
What your customers see
To your customers, it's simply another product page in your store. Dock's configurator sits seamlessly within your existing theme, replacing the standard buy buttons on Dock products.
Customers choose their size, stock, finish and quantity, with the price updating live as they configure their product. They upload their artwork directly on the page, add the finished product to their basket and check out through your normal Shopify checkout.
Before an order reaches production, the uploaded artwork passes through Dock's built-in artwork checker, helping ensure files are correctly sized and colours are converted to print-ready CMYK.
The whole experience stays within your store, under your brand.
Synced products carry a £0 placeholder variant price — the real price is calculated live by the configurator. Some themes print that placeholder on product cards; if yours does, email us and we'll help your theme mask it.
A completed order is a real order — a Shopify test-gateway payment doesn't change that. If you'd like a dry run first, arrange it with your Solopress contact.
Deeper theme work is optional — there's a published developer guide for removing native buy surfaces at markup level.
No — the whole setup is admin plus theme editor. There's an optional developer guide if you want markup-level theme guards, but most stores don't need it.
No. The configurator stays invisible on them and the guards leave their buttons untouched.
Dock Buy Guard hides your theme's own Add to cart and Buy it now buttons on Dock products, so customers are guided through the configurator instead.
The Checkout Guard is the backstop: an unconfigured Dock line is stopped at checkout — even a direct add-to-cart URL can't buy one. You want both switched on.
On the order itself: the note shows the current stage, tags accumulate as the history, and a fulfilment with tracking is created automatically when it ships.
It goes through Dock's artwork check before production: sized to the product's spec, RGB colours converted to print-ready CMYK, and unreadable files held rather than printed. If you run your own prepress, we can switch the check to bypass for your account.
The app is free; you pay Solopress the cost of goods when an order is submitted to production. You set your retail prices.
